Obama Leads McCain in Virginia

Obama is leading McCain in Virginia by a slim margin, according to RCP. But it is the first time that he's ahead with the polls averaged together. The only traditional swing states where McCain has an itty bitty lead is Nevada and Michigan.

The latest PPP poll in Virginia gives Obama an edge and tested for the vice presidency effect. It didn't matter to voters if Hillary was on the ticket, but more said they would vote for Obama with former governor Mark Warner as veep.

But he has taken himself out of the running.
